Sabbath bride Queen
artwork using fabric as an added component in the collage process. 11x14". 2003

In the Kabbalist view, the weekly arrival of Shabbat, the day of rest, arrives
at sundown on Friday evening with Shabbat metaphorically symbolized as a
Bride Queen - a bride for her beauty and a queen for her rules. This
mixed-media collage captures the ethereal quality of this special time when
we look ahead to a day of peace before we start the week cycle all over again
after sundown on Saturday evening.
(note: Shabbat - Hebrew for Sabbath)
