As both the designer and project coordinator for major quilt installations, Rosefsky has transferred the process of paper cutouts to cutting shapes of fabrics for quilt appliqué. The larger community quilt projects take a year or more to complete, from the initial sketches and research, to the sewing by community volunteers. The spirit of camaraderie among all the sewers is an additional benefit to creating these community heirlooms.
