Ending Shabbat and Beginning the New Week

To the left of the ark is another large window that also works with a Shabbat (Sabbath) theme. However, in contrast to its welcome on Friday evening, we now say goodbye to this special day of rest on Saturday night when three stars appear in the sky. To savor the peace of Shabbat, we fully open our senses to the smell of a fragrant spice box, the taste of sweet wine and to the vision of a brightly lit multi-wick braided candle.
